Font Size: Default font size Larger font size ESCONDIDO ---- Police officers issued 22 citations during a special enforcement operation Saturday aimed at enforcing motorcycle safety laws, according to the Escondido Police Department.
Most of the citations were issued to riders for excessive speed and one rider was cited for riding without a license, said Lt. Tom Albergo. The goal of the operation was not only to enforce violations made by riders but by other drivers who impede cyclists, Albergo said.
Funding for the operation was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Safety Administration.
